Performs a variety of technical procedures with competence, commitment, and initiative. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Current licensure by the State of Oregon in Mammography. Certification in CPR / AED. High school Diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of Medical terminology, computers and typing experience. Detail oriented and effective organizational skills. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff, providers and the public. Must be able to occasionally accommodate flexible hours and shifts pending department needs. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making. Ability to work in a fast paced environment, while keeping close attention to accuracy with minimal supervision. Ability to work independently and as a team participant. Essential Functions: If delegated by Imaging Director, performs QC/QA and oversees all mammography functions for the Imaging Supervisor to assist; given 5 hours a week of Administrative time to assist. If delegated by Imaging Supervisor, manages the employee licenses book to ensure licenses do not expire unnoticed. Prioritize patient care and service above all other duties. Assist patients with transportation needs when necessary. Must support safety in the work environment. Assure image quality before patient leaves the department. Practice Universal Precautions. Notify department director/manager of any accident or incident to any persons or equipment. Maintain work area in clean, organized and well-stocked condition. The ability to perform 15 minute (in room) mammography. Modality Specific Functions: Produce high quality diagnostic studies with less than a 5% repeat rate in mammography also as measured by feedback from consulting Radiologists and follow established imaging protocols. Scheduling mammograms from work lists. Perform Bone Density Exams as needed. Accept delegated tasks from leadership. Greets, instructs, directs, and schedules patients and visitors. Answers phones, makes appointments and takes messages for patients. Serves as liaison between patient and medical support staff. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: High School Diploma or equivalent. Possess a current Oregon State Driver's License and have reliable, independent transportation everyday and a phone, either cell or home Must live close enough to arrive to work within 30 minutes of a phone call. Experience dealing with the public in a fast paced, customer service oriented environment or office setting. Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and courteously. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to work in a fast paced environment, while keeping close attention to accuracy. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation in order to forward patient information to the medical staff. Must be able to pass the required spelling and typing test. Must be able to work flexible hours and shifts and be available for weekend and holiday rotations. Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize a variety of tasks. Ability to work independently and as a team participant. Preferred Qualifications: One year work experience in a medical office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology desirable. Previous experience with cash handling, word processing, and using computers. Essential Functions: Travel to patient service sites as requested. Work flexible hours and shifts. Answer telephones promptly and cordially, following the department scripting and protocol. Take messages and relay information to the nursing staff or physician, or make appointments as indicated by the circumstances and medical office policy. Cancel and reschedule appointments as directed by the template detail clerk or team leader. Review future appointments to ensure appropriate utilization of appointment time slots. Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner. Obtain referrals if needed for coordination of insurance benefits. Check in patients, verify and update necessary information in the medical record. Input pertinent demographics, insurance information, and appointment data into automated appointment system, electronic health record and on patient processing documents as needed. Determine, inform, and collect appropriate visit fees. Validate patient visits, document and certify payments, and balance the cash drawers. Refer patients to the Credit or Business Office for clarification of insurance coverage as needed. Refer to Patient & Provider Relations for resolution of disputes and/or patient concerns as needed. Observe waiting areas and reassure patients awaiting service for lengthy periods of time. Notify licensed medical and/or nursing personnel of patient emergencies, need for assistance, or lengthy waits. Distribute and/or assist patient in completion of forms. Participate in departmental meetings, problem solving groups, and in-service educational opportunities on an on going basis. Other Duties: Serve as mentor to new staff and students as assigned. Essential Functions: If designated by Imaging Director; must perform and be in charge of ACR Accreditation for sites specified, be in charge of inspections, submitting renewals, and successful accreditation. Prioritize and follow all ACR accreditation regulations. Review and research implantable devices for scanning safety and clear/deny implants. Ability to work on both Closed Bore and Open MRI at both sites. Modality Specific Functions: Produce high quality diagnostic studies as measured by feedback from consulting Radiologists and follow established scan protocols. Establish IV's and administer oral and IV contrast media as prescribed by Radiologist and recognize signs and symptoms of contrast reaction/ extravasation and proper protocol for treatment. Accept delegated tasks from leadership Other Duties: Serve as mentor to new staff and students as assigned. Works closely with Director of Imaging Services on temporary assignments of a variety of tasks. Operate departmental computer systems. Supports and suggest process improvement and departmental implementations. Participate in departmental meetings, problem solving groups and in-service educational opportunities on on-going bases.
