We are currently seeking a full-time Cybersecurity Network Engineer to manage and secure our hospital's critical network infrastructure. This role involves designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining essential network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and minimal downtime.

A strong focus on cybersecurity is a key aspect of this position. The engineer will develop and enforce robust security policies, conduct regular audits for compliance with industry regulations, and promptly respond to security incidents

The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver committed to proactive monitoring, effective troubleshooting, documentation, and staying current with the latest IT and cybersecurity trends to enhance our network defenses and support hospital-wide initiatives.

Salary range: $43.37 - $61.84

*What You'll Do:*

  • Design, implement, and manage Hospital network infrastructure in manner that ensures optimal network performance, reliability, and security.
  • Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, virtual private networks, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance and conduct regular network maintenance to ensure that network operates efficiently and potential problems are prevented.
  • Promptly and effectively troubleshoot and resolve network issues in manner that minimizes associated downtime and disruption.
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures designed to protect network infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and diagrams that describe network configurations and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond promptly and effectively to security breaches or incidents.
  • Regularly perform security audits and assessments that help to ensure Hospital compliance with applicable industry regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to design and implement security controls that comport with best practices.
  • Maintain familiarity with recent IT and cybersecurity trends and advancements, and continually use such knowledge in effort to improve network security.
  • Effectively communicate about technology issues with Information Technology Department staff, other Hospital staff, Medical Staff, and IT or cybersecurity vendors.
  • Collaborate with staff in own and other Hospital Departments to ensure that applicable Hospital projects and initiatives are adequately supported by network.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Information Technology Manager.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of principles that relate to information technology and cybersecurity, and proficiency in threat analysis, risk management, and vulnerability assessment

Possession of one of the following backgrounds:

completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a concentration related to computer science, cybersecurity, or information technology (IT)

completion of an associate's degree from an accredited college in a concentration related to computer science or IT, and at least four years of work experience in a related field

at least eight years of work experience in computer science, cybersecurity, IT, or a related field

At least five years of experience in roles that involved network engineering and cybersecurity

Aptitude in verbal and written communication, and proficiency in use of scripting languages (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, or Python) for tasks related to automation or system management

Demonstrated skill in configuration and management of firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and other security appliances
